Welcome to Coedit.io! By accessing or using our collaborative online code editor, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.
1. Use of the Service
Coedit.io provides a real-time, collaborative code editing platform where users can create and participate in code editing sessions by sharing a unique session link. All processing happens on the user’s device, and the platform facilitates communication between participants via a WebSocket server. Coedit.io does not store or save the code.
By using Coedit.io, you agree that:
- You are responsible for how you use the platform and for the content shared during sessions.
- You will only share session links with individuals you trust and intend to collaborate with.
- You will not use Coedit.io to share, store, or distribute any content that is illegal, abusive, hateful, or harmful to others.
2. Prohibited Activities
You agree that you will not use Coedit.io for any of the following:
- Malicious Activities: You may not use Coedit.io to engage in malicious activities, including but not limited to distributing viruses, malware, or other harmful software.
- Abuse of the Platform: You may not exploit any bugs or vulnerabilities in Coedit.io for personal gain, to cause harm, or to disrupt the experience of others.
- Hate Speech and Harassment: You may not use Coedit.io to engage in hate speech, harassment, or any behavior intended to harm or demean others based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic.
- Unauthorized Access: You may not attempt to access sessions you are not invited to, or use Coedit.io to gain unauthorized access to other systems or networks.
3. Enforcement and Exclusion
We are committed to maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all users. If you engage in any prohibited activities or otherwise misuse the platform, Coedit.io reserves the right to:
- Suspend or Terminate Access: We may suspend or permanently terminate your access to Coedit.io without prior notice if we determine that you have violated these Terms and Conditions.
- Report Malicious Activity: We may report any malicious or illegal activity to appropriate law enforcement authorities.
Coedit.io reserves the right to take any necessary action, including suspending or terminating accounts and blocking users, in order to protect the integrity and safety of the platform.
4. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in the platform, including its design, features, and content (excluding the code created during sessions), are owned by Coedit.io. You are not granted any ownership rights to any part of the platform, and you may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works from the platform without our express written permission.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
Coedit.io is provided “as is” and “as available” without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied. While we strive to provide a reliable and secure platform, we do not guarantee that Coedit.io will always be available, error-free, or free from security breaches.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Coedit.io shall not be liable for any damages arising out of or related to your use of the platform, including but not limited to:
- Loss of Code or Data: We do not store code, and it is your responsibility to save your work on your own device.
- Security Incidents: We are not responsible for any breaches of security or loss of data that may result from using the platform.
- Third-Party Actions: We are not liable for any malicious or harmful actions taken by other users of the platform.
7. Changes to the Terms and Conditions
Coedit.io reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. When changes are made, we will update the effective date at the top of this document. It is your responsibility to review these Terms and Conditions regularly to ensure you are aware of any changes.
